Overview
HQ works with accumulation. His canvases are saturated surfaces, with intertwining lines of India ink, overlapping forms, and colors that clash without neutralizing one another.
It’s urban art that has moved from the wall to the canvas, yet retains the urgency of the gesture.
The titles often express states of mind: Sad Man, What’s the Point?, End of Troubles, Stoicism. It’s a practice that explores what it means to hold one’s ground in the world. The work is dense, sometimes dark, always imbued with presence. It asserts itself in a space without asking permission.

Forms do not look. They face. A mask, opaque, closed in upon itself. Something archaic and universal, like ritual objects. The line does not represent. It occupies. The form is fixed. The gesture is not.
