Overview
LBP's work uses intuitive, primal expressions to create paintings that defy a single interpretation. The vivid colors contrast with the raw forms.
The intention: to reveal the raw nature of human beings—their layers of mistakes, intentions, and deceptions.
The human figure is everywhere but never static. Bodies are fragmented, faces overlap, silhouettes intertwine without ever coming into focus. Writing fills the surface: words, codes, numbers, proper names. This is not storytelling; it is saturation. The painting is like a blackboard covered with everything that has been said but never heard.
The work ranges from small, highly gestural pieces to very large works on canvas or wood, some of which are mounted on stands. A practice that is free in its formats yet consistent in its energy.

Beneath the surface of chaos lies a profound culture, Gilgamesh, Sumer, and a trait that defies all control. A style of painting with a long memory and a swift hand. I have been living with one of her paintings for several years.
